Deploy V-Ray Render Service on devbox for CPU rendering
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Main workstation lacks CPU power and is not suitable for CPU only rendering.
Devbox has better CPU performance when compared in benchmarks but lacks GPU performance, which makes it suitable for CPU based rendering when Vray RT fails.

V-Ray RD GPU deployed, performs a bit too well but tends to crash during asset transfer or if specified plugins were used.

Still needs to be registered as a service
Vray logging will not pickup render nodes and ps remote access needs to be configured

thunderysteak mentioned this in Unknown Object (Maniphest Task).Apr 3 2020, 1:50 AM

Keeps crashing as a service and causes the renderer to eject it on reestablishing connection after the service restarted.
Works if launched manually, but when it crashes, it has to be relaunched manually.
Could be issue due of it running in headless configuration mode
